2. SCOPE OF WORKS

2.1 General Description

The scope and purpose of this method statement is to outline the general requirements and precautionary measures which should be taken into consideration during plastering work to ensure that works are according to the drawings, standards and project specification.

2.4    Site Planning and Preparation

2.4.1           Each cement deliver on site shall be stored off the ground, under cover away from damp and in such a manner as to enable them to be used in order of delivery. Proper planning of execution as per area of installation shall be made.
2.4.1           All required materials shall be placed near on site of installation with quantity as per site requirements. Cover with blue sacks all material for protection and to avoid the dust.
2.4.2           All plaster mortar will be shifted to higher elevation by using pulley with rope fix on pail.
2.4.3           Execution clearance must be coordinated to all discipline to avoid any further chipping after plastering works.
2.4.4           Prior to commencing installation, examine the substrate, adjacent construction and the conditions in which the work will be installed.
2.4.5           Substrate shall be allowed to dry out thoroughly to ensure that drying shrinkage is substantially complete before applying the plaster finish
2.4.6           Ensure all block wall inspected for verticality, alignments and other accessories before start of work.(All MEP chasing to be cut, properly closed and covered with approved steel mesh prior to start rush coat/dash coat). All MEP penetrations on walls will be provided by approved sleeves without protrusion and complying with the finishing requirements.

2.4    Work Methodology


2.4.1      Install all plaster accessories as specified on the approved shop drawings such as;
a.     Corner beads
b.     Architraves
c.     Metal lath
d.     Movement joint beads
e.     Control joint beads
2.4.2      Joint between concrete and concrete blocks must be covered with metal lath.
2.4.3      All edges of wall and columns to be plastered must be installed with corner beads.
2.4.4      Movement joints beads and Control joint beads in all plastered wall as per the approved shop drawing must be installed properly.
2.4.5      After fixing all plaster accessories apply spatter dash slurry coat on the block wall and maintain proper curing of minimum 3 days.
2.4.6      Install a batons guide / or plastered dabs / or bull marks on wall surface to determine the required thickness or plaster. Any render coat more than 15 mm thick shall be applied in two layers.
2.4.7      Maintain proper curing of minimum 3 days on completed plastered walls.
2.4.8      All works must be executed using a working flatform made of scaffolding and wooden planks arrange in an acceptable height enough to execute the works.

2.5  Field Quality
·     Ensure the verticality and straightness of plastered walls.
·     Ensure all required accessories are properly installed.
·     Supervise and ensure the Quality and acceptable workmanship.
