2. SCOPE OF WORKS

2.1 General Description

·         The scope and purpose of this method statement is to outline the general requirements and precautionary measures which should be taken into consideration for the proper repairing of tie rod holes to ensure that works are according to the drawings, standards and project specification.

2.2 Plant and Equipment

§  Electric Mixing paddle

§  Spatula

§  Hilti jack hammer

§  Grinder  or Cutting torch

2.4      Work Methodology

2.4.1           Clean the concrete surface or flattened the surface using grinder.

2.4.2           Cut the area around the steel

  

2.4.3           Cut the tie rod using cutting torch or grinder; ensure the tie rod is offset by at least 10mm from the concrete surface.

2.4.4           Prepare the slurry by mixing the approved repair materials and water as per manufacturer’s recommendation. Use electrical mixing paddle for mixing.

2.4.5           Fill in the chipped area and protect the mortar from rapid drying by applying curing compound.

2.4.6           All activities in elevated areas shall be fully coordinated with HSE department. Ensure that the working flat form is inspected and approved by HSE officer.

2.4.7           All waste materials shall be place in a separate bucket and must be segregated in other waste items to avoid contamination.
